Vietnam Veterans Memorial

During class, one documentary showed a clip of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C. This V-shaped wall, designed by a college student and inscribed with the names of over 58,000 U.S. soldiers, features elegant black granite and was first unveiled on November 13, 1982. Over 4.2 million visitors came to pay tribute in 2012 alone, and it is one of the most popular tourist attractions. It continues to be a very controversial memorial, and names are still being added.
