Today in USHAP we went to question 4 on a video worksheet.
The following are the answers I got for the worksheet.
Question 1: Hamilton wanted to see a purer Britain. Admired hierarchy and the english. Born into economic family.
Jefferson wanted a new government influenced by the French Revolution. Wanted no hierarchy. Born into a farmer family.
Question 2:Every man is a scoundrel, only self interest, need to figure out how to turn self interest to aid common good. issue bonds to the states in exchange for debt.(This would tie the states to the country to help make sure the country wouldn't fail)
Question 3:Jefferson opposed Hamilton's debt assumption plan because it favored the mercantile class. Jefferson saw an advantage to the upper class and a disadvantage to the farmers(lower class)
Question 4:Hamilton, loose construction, if constitution gives the government the power to do something the government should be able to use the power in the most efficient way. A country needs a centralized bank.
Jefferson, strict construction, what the constitution says is what is means and the constitution doesn't say for a bank to be made. Saw the bank as something that could be used against the people.
If you weren't here then this might be helpful if you were here then you should've had this and maybe more. Comment any extra information I didn't write down.
