  2. Makinnon, this post is very interesting, however, there is one major flaw in the haiku. You say that (history) "Happened long ago", however, this is far from the truth. History is anything that happened in the past, and can therefore be recent events. For example, in Mr. Stewart's class we learned about the 2008 election, which only happened recently (6 years ago), and while in history we do learn about events that happened long ago, not all of history is ancient. Overall, it looks like you put a lot of effort into this post, so good job.

  3. Makinnon, I really like this post because you used so few words, but you said so much. I really like the line "Parallels run deep" because it reminds me of Josh's post where he said that history repeats itself. I both refers to the idea that sometimes events repeat themselves such as World War I and World War II.

    1. I agree that the line "Parallels run deep" is definitely very relevant. Many parallels can be seen throughout history; for example, the eras of the 1920s and 1950s are often compared for their times of great economic wealth and materialism. By acknowledging parallels like this, it helps us find trends in history- trends that may come up again in our lives, such as the resurgence of materialism in American society that can be traced to the 20s and 50s.

    2. Excellent analysis, C-dawg. Perhaps we can use these "parallels" to help fix current problems today taking into consideration the changes that have been made since the events first occurred.
